Thus Slumbered Zarathustra
توطئة: حين اخترت هذا النص للترجمة فإنما فعلت ذلك لما فيه من عمق الفكر الذي تتصف به عموماً كتابات الأديب سلام كاظم فرج. وبعدَ أن شرعتُ بالترجمة ، رغم علمي بأن النص كُتبَ للنخبة، اكتشفتُ أنّه لنخبةِ النخبة. فما احتوى عليه من ذكرٍ لبعض المسمَّيات لمراجعَ أدبيةٍ أو فكريةٍ أو فلسفية في متن النص يُفترَضُ فيه معرفةُ القارئ بمحتواها، ولذا لم تحتوِ الهوامشُ الأصلية على شرحٍ لهذه المسمَّيات. كما أغفل الكاتب وضع هذه المسمَّيات بين اقواس للإشارة الى خصوصيتها. ولذا فقد أحطت العناوين بالأقواس الضرورية كما اضفت شرحاً لها في الهوامش تحت الترجمة. كذلك ورد في النص العربي عناوين مترجمة اساساً من الأنجليزية، ولذا فإن اعادتها للإنجليزية تقتضي استعمال مسمياتها الأصلية كما وردت باللغة الأنجليزية، وقد تأكدت من ذلك ، تجنباً للوقوع في فخ الخيانة الترجمية مرتين.
أما ملاحظتي الأخيرة فهي حول ترقيمِ المقاطع وتعمُّد الكاتب كسرَ التسلسلِ المنطقي تماشيا مع فكرةِ النص... ولكنّي وجدتُ هذا الخروجَ مربكاًً لي وقد يكونُ مربكاً لغيري من القرّاء. أوشكتُ ان احذفَ الترقيمَ لولا أن منعتني أمانتي في الترجمة. غير ّأني تمنيت لو انَّ الكاتبَ قد أعادَ النظرَ في الترقيم.
كل الشكر للأديب سلام كاظم فرج لسماحه لي بنشر ترجمتي لنصه العميق بفكره والغني بمفرداته والجميل بومضاته واسلوبه الأدبي.

I stand astonished as I observe its glossy floor;
A bit of tea-remains in a cup
You left behind a month ago;
Within its vastness, laughter scatters,
With lipstick, your sweet inner soul,
And a whisper …. Ah…….

Nothing but silence of the house,
And smoke of memories.
Nobody understands... nobody knows…
But me….
….
There is a lost dream,
There are lost hopes,
Nobody can relate to,
But me,
In this world,
Because you didn’t come back home,
Or any other place,
In this world.

Relishing in defeats,
Sprinting toward the sun to catch it...

Little Pharaohs
Happy with their little ones running around;
Quasi-tigers,
Carrying cushions and brocades of leather,
And the poet, gazes at the sun,
But the vision reverts back to him with a sigh…
That’s what made “Thus Speaks Zarathustra” (2) **

In spite of books glossed with theorization,
Artificial ambiguity,
Alphabets, witch craft talisman,
Meaningless rhymes,
“Maqamat Al- Hariri”, (4) ***

And "Omeyya Bin-Khalaf,"
Summits on top of other summits
Adam Smith Bequeathed to Keynes; (5)*****
When "Wall Street" shakes,
The ground swings, and governments sneeze; (6)******

And Eliot’s "The Waste Land"
"The Hollow Men" ..

Are lions, and preys offering themselves a feast for dummies,
In the form of lions.

ثمالة شاي في قدحها..
تركتها منذ شهر
وفي أرجاءها تتبدد الضحكات
احمر الشفاه وثناياك العذبة
وهمسة .. آه.........

ليس سوى صمت المنزل
ودخان الذكريات..
لا أحد يفهم... لا احد يدري...
سواي ......

ثمة حلم مضاع
