Rain of Kisses
الأول بعنوان
"أربعون قبلة وقبلة" Forty Kisses and One Kiss
والثاني بعنوان: "قبلة... قُبَل... قبلات" A kiss, Kisses, Kisses
وجدتُ هذا الجزءَ المعنون "مطر من القبلات" أكثر صعوبةً في الترجمة مما سبقه لما فيه من بعضِ التعابيِر الخاصةِ باللغةِ العربية أو التراث العربي مما قد لا يعني الكثيرَ للقارئ غير العربي؛
ومثالُ ذلك ما ورد في المقطعِ المرقم - 8 – بتعبير "قبلة الحمّى" والتي ترجمتُها حرفياً (ever kiss)، فهذه التسمية هي عربية بحتة في حين أنها بالأنجليزية لا تسمّى قبلةً على الإطلاق وإنما تسمى بإسمها الطبي (Fever blister)؛
أما تسميتها العلمية (Herpes Simplex) فهي لاتمتُّ الى القبلةِ بأيةٍ صلةٍ، بل انها بعيدةٌ كل البعدِ عن رومانسيتِها، وكنتُ سأقترحُ حذفَها من الترجمةِ إن سمح الشاعر سعد جاسم بذلك، ولكني أبقيتها وأوضحتها بشرحٍ في الهامش.
والمثالُ الثاني هو في المقطع المرقم -17- ؛ فإسم الحلاج ليست له ذات الدلالة للقارئ غير العربي كما هي للقارئ العربي، وكذلك الركعتين، والوضوء وما يصحُّ وما لايصحُّ فيه، لن يفهمها من ليس له معرفة بعلاقة الحلاج بالدين والوضوء والصلاة. ولذا فقد استعنتُ بالهوامش لشرحِ ذلك كما فعلتُ مع "قبلة الحمى".
وفي بعضِِ المقاطع، اعتمد المعنى كلياً على التلاعبِ بالألفاظ واستعمالِ كلمةٍ لتحلَّ محلَّ كلمةٍ أخرى مشابهةً لها في اللفظ؛ ومثالُ ذلك استبدالُ تعبير "أحكاماً بالسجن" بتعبير "أحلاماً بالسجن" واستبدال تعبير "الأشغال الشاقة" بتعبير "الأحزان الشاقة"، وكذلك استعمال كلمة "فرمان" وغيرها من التعابير التي لاتصلح للترجمة لخصوصيتها المحلية واللغوية. ورغم وضع ترجمة لها فإني لست مقتنعة تماماً بجدوى ترجمتها، لا لعيبٍ فيها ولكن لقصورٍ الترجمةِ عن نقل المعاني التي هي للإستهلاك المحلي فقط.
الآن وقد وصلنا النهاية، السؤالُ الذي يبقى مائلاً هو: هل تمَّ العددُ، مئة قبلةٍ وقبلة؟
الجزءُ الأولُ فيه واحدٌ واربعون قبلةٍ، والثاني ثمانٍ وعشرون قبلة، والثالث ثلاثون قبلة؛
استعنتُ بالحاسبة فوجدتُ المجموع تسعاً وتسعين قبلة؛ إذاً مازال الشاعرُ بحاجةٍ إلى قبلتين لإكمالِ مشروعِه، ولعله يعِدُّ مافي عدَّتِه لكي يكون مسك الختام في هاتين القبلتين الأخيرتين ..
تمنياتي الحارة له بالتوفيق في هذه المهمة ، المهمة جداً...

Kisses are,
Messages of our souls

In albums of memory

Oh, springs,
If it wasn’t for your watery kisses,
Rivers and fields,
Animals and forests would die
And mankind would suffer more

ِThe kiss of one’s father is
The essence of his soul,
And mediation to God

His lips were frayed
From kissing, repeatedly,
Her image on the wall

The kiss is
The prayer of a lover
In the presence of the beloved

Fever kiss *(1)
Is an alarm bell
Taking the form of a rose
That adds charm and warmth
To the female lover

Angels are
God's invisible kisses

A star falls
When his companion star turns away
Or holds back in kissing

A kiss
Does not accept division
By any number
But one

The kiss
Is the spirit
Everlasting;
Blessed the wishes,
of the flesh.

The kiss is
Freedom granted,
But - often –
Conditional

Spoiled
Is the kiss
That is grabbed violently

Country at war,
Treachery and wagering)
This was ordered by the Sultan
And decreed;
The scene was smoke
And howling
Where the lovers were exterminated
Along with roses,
And all love birds
In a celebration of mass killing!

Kisses
Are weighed by the carat

Al-Hallaj * (2) stopped me
At the kiss section
And said:
“In love, prayer is kneeling twice,
And ablution is authenticated
Only by rain.”

Like first love,
Is a tattoo
That cannot be wiped
From the memory of the soul

I do kiss,
Therefore, I exist

When my feet
Kiss your feet,
Our bodies glow
And the bed bursts into flames

Kissing is
Healing
For ailing hearts

You are amazing,
You get enough
Of everything,
But never enough
Of kissing!
